یک اصطلاح بسیار پرکاربرد در انگلیسی، به معنی کار بسیار راحت و ساده، مثل آب خوردن
▪ I thought I was going to fail the test, but it turned out to be a piece of cake!
من فکر می کردم که تست رو رد میشم اما معلوم شد که مثل آب خوردن بود.
▪ After climbing mountains in the Swiss Alps, going up English hills is a piece of cake.

🔹 Bring home the bacon
🔸 To earn money, as from steady employment.
نان آور خانه بودن. داشتن درآمد

ماری از اینکه تنها نان آور خانه باشد خسته شده بود.
▪ Now that I have a full-time job, I’m bringing home the bacon!

🔸 It is not the type of thing that you like
چیزی که مورد پسند نباشد، چیزی که دلخواه نباشد، این عبارت زیاد استفاده می شود

🔹 Take something with a pinch of salt
🔸 To consider or evaluate something, such as a statement, while keeping in mind that it may not be completely true or accurate, typically due to the unreliability of the source.
🔸 To not completely believe something that you are told, because you think it is unlikely to be true
باور نکردن کامل حرفی که می شنوید. شنیدن و بررسی یک ادعا یا صحبت با فرض اینکه ممکن است اشتباه باشد، به دیده تردید نگاه کردن
▪ Neil lies all the time, so people often take what he says with a pinch of salt.
نیل همیشه دروغ میگه، برای همین اکثرا چیزی که میگه رو با دیده تردید نگاه می کنند.

🔸 To have all the benefits of a situation when, in fact, having one thing means that you cannot have the other
هم خدا را بخواهی هم خرما را
▪ You’re never going to save enough money to buy a house if you keep buying expensive appliances and cars. You can’t have your cake and eat it, too.
تو هیچ وقت نمی تونی به اندازه کافی برای خرید یک خونه پول پس انداز کنی اگه بخوای مدام وسایل و ماشین های گرون بخری. نمی تونی هم خدا رو داشته باشی هم خرما رو
▪ Simon wants to go to university, but does not want to study. His parents say he cannot have his cake and eat it too.

خیلی خونسرد (به خصوص در شرایط سخت و استرس زا)، بی خیال، کسی که آب در دلش تکان نمی خورد

🔸 To encourage someone to do something, especially something unwise or bad. To urge someone to do something, often something mischievous.
تحریک کسی به انجام کاری که معمولا درست نیست یا غیر عاقلانه است
▪ Egged on by his friends, he was determined to fight his rival.

گذاشتن همه تخم مرغ ها در یک سبد، سرمایه گذاری و ریسک کردن همه چیز روی یک مورد.

تلاش زیاد جوآن قطعا داره به نتیجه میرسه، رئیسش بهش قول یک ترفیغ رو به زودی داده

🔸 a person who watches a lot of television and does not have an active life
آدمی که مدام تلویزیون نگاه می کند. کسی که مدام روی مبل لم دادم و تلویزیون می بیند، معتاد به تلویزیون

▪ Lisa wants to date a man who loves to travel and explore, not a couch potato who watches television all the time.

🔸 To admit that you were wrong. To admit that one is wrong, usually when doing so triggers great embarrassment or shame.

به نظر میرسه بازی تنیس برای او خیلی راحته، مثل آب خوردنه براش

🔸 Something good that is unlikely to happen. An impossible, unlikely, or fanciful idea or plan.
آرزو محال و دست نیافتنی. چیز خوبی که بعید است پیش بیاید. رویای دست نیافتنی. خوش خیالی و تخیلی. خواب و خیال
▪ I wanted to be a football superstar, but I knew it was probably pie in the sky.
من می خواستم یک سوپر استار فوتبال بشم، اما می دونستم که احتمالا خواب و خیاله.
▪ He keeps talking about how he’ll move to Los Angeles to be a famous actor, but it’s just pie in the sky if you ask me.

🔹 Walk on eggshells = walk on thin ice
🔸 To act with great care and consideration so as not to upset someone. To be very careful with your words or actions
روی پوست تخم مرغ راه رفتن، بسیار محتاط و مراقب بودن. رعایت حال کسی را کردن. روی لبه تیغ راه رفتن.
▪ After my brother broke up with his girlfriend, I was walking on eggshells, avoiding talking about it with their friends.
بعد از اینکه برادر من با دوستش بهم زد، من خیلی مراقب بودم و درباره این موضوع با دوستانش صحبت نمی کردم.
